On November 18th, UCLAs Melnitz Movies will celebrate artist Bruce Conner’s birthday by inviting renowned restorationist Ross Lipman (UCLA Film & Television Archive) to present his multimedia lecture on the production of Conner’s 1976 film Crossroads, first seen last year at MoMA. This extremely special event will coincide with The Kohn Gallery exhibition of the digital restoration and, as a counterpart, will feature a screening of the 35mm version fol- lowed by a discussion of its restoration and a visual demonstration of some of the complex issues which surround the digitization and exhibition of this important avant-garde work. The event will also feature Crossroads composer Patrick Gleeson in-person.
Parking
Parking costs $10 in Lot 3, located just north of the James Bridges Theater. Purchase a daily permit at the parking booth located at Wyton Drive and Hilgard Avenue before 7:30 p.m., or from parking attendants at Lot 3 entrances, one hour before showtime. There is also a self-service pay station in Lot 3's northern extension.
Free parking is available on Loring Avenue (south of Sunset Blvd, east of Hilgard Avenue at Charing Cross Road) after 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and all day on weekends.
